If your not having your Ovaries removed then you can expect to get the menopause at the normal age. Leaving the Ovaries can mean that H.R.T (Hormone Replacement Therapy) is not needed too.
Please, information is the key. Make the doctor lay it on the table for you in simple Layman’s terms if you do not understand what they are telling you.
Good Luck. X
If they remove your ovaries you will instantly be in menopause, since your body won’t be producing estrogen anymore (it’s produced in the ovaries). If they leave your ovaries intact, then it should happen gradually, my friend’s doctor told her up to a year, but she still has symptoms every month, and her hysterectomy was over 5 years ago.
I had an hysterectomy when i was 30, and i still have gone through the menopause, although im boderline, and im 50 now so it doesnt always work that it will happen immediatly after, you will probably go on hrt for a while, and, just keep a healthy diet and excersise, that works wonders for your hair,
If Ovaries are removed—right away. You need hormone replacement which may not be safe if you are at risk of blood clots or breast cancer.
Expect it immediately. I don’t know about hair.
if you still have your overie’s then i think it will be longer rather than sooner ask your gp he will explain.
Well, I had one when I was 28 and I am 45 now and still have hot flashes and stuff I took the hormone pills for 15 years and I believe in taking them for hot flashes and moods but, they can cause cancer in the bladder and breasts. If you are planning on having a hysterectomy done do NOT do a partial it isn’t worth the pain to have to go back and get a complete. Within a year of my partial I had to go back in to have a complete cause my ovaries which I was trying to save to keep from going through the menopausal ordeal but, they feel and started growing to my stomach lining so, I had to go back through the painful surgery again… I hope it all works out for you! Good Luck!!!
sorry to tell you straight away my mum had one of thease and it was’ny nice tolook after her after she had it done
depends on whether or not they take your ovaries out …….partial or complete hysterectomy……..check out the site below
