Is It Possible For A Woman Who Has Been Through The Menopause To Still Suffer With Pms?

My friend had a hysterectomy aged 26 she suffered mood swings every month for years. 8 years after going through the menopause is it still possible to suffer PMS? I haven’t catalogued it, (maybe I should) but sometimes I give my partner a really hard time and wonder if this is the cause?

You sure can and the hot flashes are just as bad. Also at that certain time I would kill for chocolate.

I started thru menopause over 10 years ago and still have hot flashes and some of the PMS symptoms. I just asked my doctor at my yearly check up if this is possible, and he said it was. Every woman is different.Too bad men don’t have to experience something similar, so they wouldn’t think it was always all in our heads.

i had a hys at 28, went thru all the psych crap, mood swings sweats, and NOW I am 52, and it’s starting all over again but this time it’s like only 3-4 days a week the wise *** male doctor wants to through prozac at it i told him to shove it,,i wasn’t taking something for 30 days when i am only goofy for 3 or 4…doctors don’t like to be told to shove things but we used to work together so he’ll get over it..my sympathy goes out to her, i am terrible and don’t even care..there should be a bumper sticker or something, to warn people about me, i hope it passes soon my singing voice is lower than elvis’s now!!ugh!!!!!!!!!!oh yeah, have a nice freaking day!

I had a hysterectomy at 28 and took hormones for years til they made me stop I would have drove my family nuts if I hadn’t I did try with out them and it was terrible, hormones help keep my sanity and i still new each month I was having pms it takes years for your body to except the loss and now Iam older no more hormones just prozac is my helper now sad but true. And I dont think it was in my head I was there.

One can only wonder if that is biological and or if it is years of a behavior that is associated with our little friend of so many years.
I still have defined mood swings and it has been years since menopause so I think it is my hormones reminding me of the good ole days.

If they left your friend’s ovaries, then yes it would be possible. Even after menopause, I think we all still have some hormonal ups and downs, usually not as pronounced as before, but still there to some degree.

  7. With your friend it sounds like depression, with you sounds like life. We tend to give them closest to us a hard time. They seem to catch the brunt of it all. Know what I mean?

It goes away eventually, and you go back to normal maybe a wee holiday will help, hell does not last forever.

I’ve met some ladies that seemed like they were ALWAYS PMSing. Do you use that as an excuse?

yes — but only in her mind — it is my impression that most folks physical problems are really only in there minds!!!!
