Has anyone undergone fake menopause treatment for endometriosis or something similar? — I was just diagonosed with endometriosis after having surgery. My options now are probably going to include going through a fake menopause-type treatment to get rid of the hormones in my body. I would like to know if anyone else has had experience with this or what their opinion is on the matter? I could also get on birth control but I am afraid this will maybe not be enough to save my ovaries from ever being able to have kids. I’m 27 and have not had children yet. Any opinions appreciated! Thanks!

Hi,
I’ve done 4 months of the Zoladex and two months of Femara in an attempt to “menopause” out my endo. Unfortunately, it didn’t produce the desired results. I am still in pain and am scheduling surgery again soon. I did get all the side effects- flashes, insomnia, constant UTIs, no interest in sex, etc. Remember, even though this therapy does work for a lot of people, it is only a temporary fix. Once you come off the meds (6 months at the max) it will start growing again. Excision surgery seems to be the best, if most dramatic, treatment. Good luck.
I know this is an old post but to knew people with this question. A friend who couldn’t conceive due to
Endometriosis was put through menapause , surgery and birth control pill, has now had a normal period and is ovulating. Insemination in the morning. Worked for her.
