No, the estrus cycle continues until death. But as for spotting after she is in heat, you need to have her checked by the vet. She may have changes to her uterus that can lead to life-threatening uterine infections. This can occur shortly after the dog has been in heat. I have seen several dogs have irregular heat cycles and then develop a pyometra ( infected uterus). The only way to prevent this is to have her spayed. Talk to your vet.

    Hello,
No, they do not have a menopause, they will keep coming in heat til the day she dies, but, if she has never been bred and is intact, she is open to Uterine, Ovarian, and Breast Cancer, she really should have been Spayed when she was 6 months old. I would take her to the Vet and make sure she has no problems.

    No, they don’t.
A dog unless problems in that area can give birth until they die, like a cat. But it not only becomes life threatening to the older animal, but it weakens the puppies, or can. There are more chances of defects like clef pallet (sp), runts, and usually they can’t have such big litters as when younger.
